The Marin Sun Farms meat club CSA program allows our customers the opportunity to more directly support our livestock production and processing efforts through 6 month and 1 year membership purchases and monthly pick ups at locations throughout the Bay Area. This effort represents a formal mechanism for more affordably supplying meats that are raised locally, ethically, sustainably, and humanely.
Each month our CSA members receive a box containing a mix of frozen retail-cut meats, based on seasonal variability. The box has a guaranteed amount of frozen meat cuts from our
several species of livestock: beef, pork, goat, lamb, mutton, chicken,
turkey or duck. The mix each month is based on seasonal variability, and
no CSA box is large enough to contain every type of species. CSA
packages are differentiated by their mix of price points - we call
them "steak", "roast & braise" and "ground" - not by specific
cuts. We respect the variations of the seasons and
cannot guarantee what the mix will be in any specific month. Should you
prefer to not receive meat from a particular species, you will
be able to exempt one species in the initial subscription form. Please note: your new CSA membership will default to "auto-renewal" status, unless you contact us to request otherwise.
Livestock production and the re-building of our local meat processing facilities are capital intensive. The year-round financial support from the CSA program provides Marin Sun Farms the ability to confidently invest in the re-building of our local, sustainable food system.
